Great Places to Find Freelance Jobs

These are a few of the best that I have found in my Research.  I have only used Elance, to so I can only talk about how they work, but the others are very good.

One nice thing is when you bid on a job and get it, the money for the job is put into an escrow account.  This way its easier to make sure you get your money for the job you do.  The websites make their money by taking a small percentage of your payment for the job.  Say you did a $100 writing job, you would get $91 total for the work.

I added Craigslist at the bottom of the list.  They are a great place to look for Freelance Jobs.  The downside is that if you have an issue with payment, its hard to get your money.  With saying that, its still a great place to find jobs.  One nice thing is that if you want a job that enables you to work from home, its best to look for jobs in the large cities.
