Learn how to find out how fast your Internet Connection is.  There are a lot of websites that you can run speed tests from.  Check your Upload Speed and Download Speed.

I have used these two sites and they are safe to test your Computer.  The sites are CNET and Speakeasy.

 

If you are connected to the Internet then you can use these speed tests to check your Internet Connection and make sure you are getting the Speed you are paying for from your ISP.

You should run these test multiple times from different websites.  This way you will get an average speed of your Internet Connection.

How it works.

Check Download Speed

What they do is they send a small file from their server to your PC.  That then tells you your Download Speed.

Check Upload Speed

They then download a file from your PC to their Server.  This tells you your Upload Speed.

There are some things that will affect your Download and Upload Speeds.

• Running programs on your Computer

• Being outside the United States

• Time of Day

• Number of People connected to the Website you are accessing.
