Windows Updates

You need to make sure your computer is regularly downloads and installs updates from Microsoft.  These updates help your computer run smoother and fix security
holes in your operating system.  These updates will help protect you from Hackers and other Spyware/Viruses while you are on the internet.

There are two different kinds of updates.  High-Priority and Optional updates.  I recommend that you turn on Automatic Updates and your computer will download all the updates and install them for you.

 

 

How to setup Windows Update to get Automatic Updates?

Open Internet Explorer and click on "Tools" and then click on "Windows Updates".   

On the right hand side of the next window you will see the box below.  Click on "Turn on Automatic Updates". 

You will see the box below.  I like to setup my computers to check everyday for updates and to download/install them at night.

If you want more control of when your computer downloads/installs updates then click on the "More Options" tab.
