Speed up your Computer by Installing more RAM

So you want to learn how to make your computer faster.  One of the best and easist ways is to install more RAM. 

So you ask how I  find out what kind and size of RAM you have Installed on your PC?  What kinds of RAM I can buy to upgrade my PC?  There is a website that you can use to help you with this Issue.

You can use either of these tools to find out what kind of RAM you need to upgrade your computer.

 

The first tool is the Crucial System Scanner tool.
Scan your computer to find out what is already inside your system and get recommended upgrades.

Download the tool and when its installed, it will scan your computer.  You will want to look at the Results and look for this part. 

This tells me that I can install "DDR PC2700" or "DDR PC3200" size RAM into my computer.  They will also give you different prices on compatible upgrades for RAM that you can buy through them.

The other Tool is the Crucial Memory Advisor™.
The Crucial Memory Advisor™ tool is a quick, 3-step process to find guaranteed-compatible memory for computers and motherboards.

Here you can pick the Brand of your PC, then pick the
Model and then the Model Number. 
You then click on "Find IT" and look for the Results like below.

What's nice about this scan is that you don't have to install any programs on your computer.
